We often get asked the same questions by prospective clients. So here are the most common ones.
How Much Does It Cost?
What Do I get For My Money?
No surprises that this almost the first question we get asked.
The answer is simple, we cannot tell you until we know what you require.
The process of commissioning a website is a bit like buying a new car.
Say you've decided that you need a new car, most likely the first thing you have decided on is the maximum amount of money you can spend on a new car and a list of criteria the car must match.
Then you start to research what you can get for your money and identify which cars match your list of criteria.
During that process you will tell the car dealerships exactly what your budget is and the criteria on your list. e.g. £20,000 budget, car must have economical fuel consumption, 7 seats (as your family has 6 members), air conditioning, heated front window screen (you don't like defrosting the car in winter) and alloy wheels.
They will then show you which cars meet your requirements. it may be that you can't get what you want within your budget, so you either cross off some of the items on your list or your have to increase your budget.
In addition you may see what kind of post customer care options there are available for you and also take into account the running costs of the car once you have purchased it.
A website is no different. We say to all our clients, be honest with us and tell us how much money you want to spend on a website and what you want it to achieve. We can then tell you if it is possible. Many clents are intially afraid of telling us, as they think we will immediately say it will cost exactly what their budget is, but we are not like that.
By telling us how much you have budgeted for your website will immediately save you and us a huge amount of time.
Say you came to us and say "I have a budget of £50 to spend on a new website for my business. I want people to be able to make purchases through the website". We would explain to you that for £50 we could help you achieve your aims, but at the end of the day you will have a huge amount of work to do, you would be undertaking 99.9% of the work yourself and have to learn alot of new technical information. That will be your time taken away from running your business, can afford to take so much time and at the end of the day you may end up with a website that doesn't work properly.
